How To Prepare Your Outdoor Party For The Weather | Garden Party Ideas 2020

It's summer time! The perfect time to start hosting garden parties outside. Thanks to the updates of Government Guidelines, you likely know by now we can meet outside with up to 6 people as long as we maintain the two meter rule. This is the perfect chance to host a garden party with your friends & family. It might be for your child's birthday or another form of celebration.

How To Prepare Your Outdoor Party For The Weather | Garden Party Ideas 2020

However, one thing we have to take into account with garden parties is the weather. If you live in the U.K then you know the weather can be completely unpredictable at times. One day it might be sunny and the next it could be pouring down with rain. Regardless it's always nice to be prepared for both circumstances and that's what we're going to discuss in today's blog.

Setting up gazebos will cover more space across your garden and provide great shelter for both situations. If the weather is too hot and everyone is seeking some shade, the gazebo will allow them to cool down for a while and enjoy the shade. Or should unexpected rain start pouring, everyone can move under the cover of the gazebo and avoid getting wet. To take it one step further you can even set up lighting and and decorations inside. That way you don't lose the party atmosphere if you have to make a dash for cover.

Similarly, you also have parasols as an option. Large umbrellas that cover an area of the garden, they will provide shelter from both the heat and the rain. They are smaller than gazebos in comparison, so it would be ideal to have a couple of them in place. Since we are still maintaining the two meter rule you wouldn't want to cramp together under one parasol. Be prepared and have a couple set up in advance.

Create A Back Up Date!

Sometimes the weather gets so bad that staying outside is simply not possible. A large thunderstorm rolls in and powerful winds might kick over your previous sheltered plans. While we can't control the weather, it is best to have a back up date planned in advance. That way if you have to cancel your party then all you need to do is simply inform your guests you'll be going with the back up date instead. Everyone will be aware way in advance and won't have your garden party plans conflict with their own.
