Top Tips For Having A Successful Kids Party At Home | Kids Party Entertainment

Updated: Jul 27, 2023

You've decided to go ahead and throw a kid's party at home for your child's birthday. Fantastic! If you checked out our previous blog, we spoke about what the advantages are to hosting a party at home.

Key Pointers for a Successful Kids Party at Home | Kids Party Entertainment Tips

In today's blog we are going to talk about the top tips for having a successful kids party at home! These amazing tips will ensure you get to throw the best party ever!

What Does Your Child Want?

This is your child's birthday and the best way to plan is to ask what they want. Have a chat with your child and see what they would like to make their special day memorable. Your child might be into a specific TV show or movie and want to make their birthday a themed one. Paw Patrol, for example. If that is a show they love to watch, go ahead and make it a Paw Patrol themed party. When it comes to the party games you can even take it one step further and make the games Paw Patrol themed as well. The best way to make sure your child has a great day is to get into their mindset and make their dreams come true.

Set The Perfect Time!

Finding the right time to host your party is an important thing to consider. The traditional 2pm till 4pm slot isn't the best time to host a party anymore, especially on a weekend. Some parents look at a party in the middle of the day as a hassle and will feel they won't have time to do anything else for the day. Usually the kids have already eaten lunch by then and probably won't eat the food you serve. Ideal time slots for your party are 11.00am till 1pm or even 4pm till 6pm. This way the food you serve becomes lunch or tea for the kids. Also more parents will bring their kids to a party booked at these times. Set a good time and make sure all the parents and their kids know well in advance.

Avoid Buffets!

A buffet is very tempting but it can become a bit of a free for all and cause havoc. It is a shame to have so much left over as well and no one wants good food to go to waste. We highly recommend you use pre-made lunch boxes for each child. Each box contains sandwiches, snacks and a bottled drink specifically made for them. The food will be easier to handle, there won't be any leftover food and everyone's a winner. It will be easier for you to organise beforehand by giving them an option to select when returning their RSVP.

Make Space For Your Entertainment!

If you have decided to hire a children's entertainer for your party and want it to be indoors, make sure there is plenty of room for your entertainer to perform in and for the kids to gather around as well. While Non-Stop Kids are happy to perform indoors as well, there might be other entertainment companies who will have difficulty performing in enclosed spaces. They will bring many expensive pieces of equipment with them and it will take a small while to set up on average. Here At Non Stop Kids, our entertainers arrive half hour before they are scheduled to begin to ensure they have more than enough time to set up.

Remember Less Is More!

Our final tip for you is to remember that less is more. Go the extra mile to make sure your kid's party is an amazing experience but don't feel obligated to bring in every type of party accessory possible. You don't want to overwhelm the kids with too much to the point they don't know what to partake in first. Keep it simple and everyone's a winner!
