Preparing Your Garden Party For The Heat | Garden Parties

Updated: Aug 10, 2023

Throughout the past few days, the UK and Wales have experienced heatwave temperatures of up towards 30ºC. With the summer temperatures expected to last the next couple of months, it's important to prepare your garden party for guests and follow all health & safety guidelines to ensure everyone will be safe.

Getting Your Garden Party Ready for Warm Weather | Garden Celebrations

Non-Stop Kids have provided thousands of garden parties across the UK and Wales. Now that the social restrictions have been removed within the UK, we're free to have as many people join your party as you please. Nevertheless, let's make sure we're taking all precautions to prepare for this heatwave while it lasts. Follow these tips and you'll be good to go.

Shaded Areas!

There comes a point where the heat becomes so unbearable that we need to retreat under shelter and take a break from the sun. We highly encourage setting up shaded areas like large umbrellas or gazebos across your garden to provide more than enough coverage for everyone attending. This is also a good place to keep cold drinks as well.

Appropriate Clothing!

It goes without saying that this isn't exactly the weather for winter coats and tight jeans. Make sure your kids have the appropriate clothing for this weather and won't wear anything that will cause them to overheat. Hats, loose t-shirts, shorts and sunglasses. You get the idea.

Plenty Of Sunscreen!

Make sure to have plenty of sunscreen available for everyone to use. While it's expected that other parents will bring their own, it never hurts to have extra supplies on standby. The good news is now that social restrictions have been removed, there aren't any concerns about passing things to each other anymore.

Lots Of Water!

Staying hydrated is especially important within the heat. The last thing anyone wants to do is dehydrate from the intense heat. Have plenty of water on standby for people to come and get drinks anytime they feel like. Water especially will help us feel cool and reduce our body heat.

Beat The Heat!

We hope this blog will help you stay safe and make sure everyone is prepared for the hot weather. One more tip we will leave you with is prepare for thunderstorms as well. That's right, when an intense heatwave lasts for a few days, thunderstorms are certain to follow afterwards. If you do have a garden party planned on the upcoming weekend, prepare for storms. Of course, we're happy to move your booking to another date as well as change your party type if you like.

Our entertainers have provided thousands of garden parties to birthdays and other events all across the country. Everyone is thrilled the restrictions are now removed within England. With normality returning, now's the time to appreciate the summer.
